Web App + Student Data
What steps does Wayfinder take to protect student data?
Wayfinder's practices fully support schools’ obligations under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Our Education Services comply with all applicable provisions of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
All personal information, including names, emails, passwords, and responses, is encrypted within the database. Additionally, the school/district owns all student data and can establish and customize levels of user access among administrators, teachers, and students.
For more information, see our Education Services Privacy Policy.
How is student data handled in the Web App?
Several layers of security and protection have been implemented to protect your students’ data. All user data (students, teachers, and principals included) is encrypted. When a student responds to a prompt on the app, the data is automatically saved as encrypted data and is otherwise unrecognizable in the unlikely event that a data breach occurs.
Do you sell or give personal information to third-party vendors?
We do not disclose, sell, or provide any data generated by using our site other than anonymous data used internally to complete technical tasks such as maintenance, security, usage, and performance analysis. For more information, see Wayfinder's Third-Party Sub-Contractors.
