Overview
This article will provide a walkthrough of how to co-create and/or share Collections of relevant content with educators + administrators at your school or district. With Editor permissions, multiple users can collaborate and contribute lessons + activities to custom Collections at the same time. How To Share a Collection With Another Educator at Your School
- Log in to Wayfinder and click on "Collections" in the left-hand navigation menu.
- Click on "My Collections" to view your existing custom Collections.
- Click on the Collection you would like to share (or click on "+ New Collection" at the top right of the page to create a new Collection).
- Click the "Share" button at the top right of the page.
- Search for the user(s) you would like to share the Collection with and then use the dropdown on the right to select their access type:
- "Viewer" access will allow the user(s) to view the Collection and share it with other viewers.
- "Editor" access will allow the user(s) to add to the Collection, make changes to the Collection, and share it with other viewers and editors.
- Note: Editors can add, edit, or delete notes in custom Collections. Viewers can see notes, but cannot add, edit, or delete them. Learn more about adding notes to custom Collections here.
- Click on "Save Changes" at the bottom of the window.
- Note: Your co-creator will receive an email notification that a Collection has been shared with them if they have email notifications turned on.
- Remove or change a person's access to the Collection at any time by using the dropdown to the right of their name.
How To Share a Collection With Another Educator in Your District
Educators in the same district can share Collections using the "Copy Link" button. You cannot search for an educator's emails in the share modal if they are not enrolled at your school. Instead, use the "Copy Link" button at the bottom left of the share modal to copy a link that you can send to other educators in your district.
Educators who use the link to access the Collection will see an option to request access. Once they've requested access, you can view their request from the top of the Collections page and select their access type, as shown below:
Note: You cannot share Collections with educators in different districts. If an educator in another district tries to open a link to your Collection, they will receive a notice that they do not have access to the Collection.
How To View and Edit a Collection That’s Been Shared With You
If you have email notifications turned on, you will receive an email when a Collection has been shared with you. Click on the link from your email to go straight to the Collection, or:
- Log in to Wayfinder and click on "Collections" in the left-hand navigation menu.
- Click on "Shared with Me" to view the custom Collections you have access to.
- An "Editor" label will show on the Collections that you can edit and add to
- Note: Editors can add, edit, or delete notes in custom Collections. Viewers can see notes, but cannot add, edit, or delete them. Learn more about adding notes to custom Collections here.
