Manual + Class Code Rostering

Overview

This article is intended for principals or teachers who would like to manually invite students or use a class code. Before continuing, please forward these Wayfinder domains to your system administrator to be allowlisted.

Instructions

  1. Log in to the Wayfinder Web App. Before beginning, make sure you are in the correct term by clicking on your profile button and then hovering over "Term." 
  2. Click on "Classes" in the navigation bar. 
  3. Click on "Add Class." If you have many classes, you may need to scroll down to see this option.
  4. In "Name," enter a descriptive classroom name, such as "7th Grade Advisory - Adams."
  5. Select the "Lowest Grade Level" and the "Highest Grade Level" of your class.
  6. Click on "Create Class."
  7. In the next module, use one of the three options to Invite Students:

      1. Instructions 2. Your Action Step 3. What to Tell Students
    Invite With Code Students will scan the QR code or type in the 6 digit code PrintScreenshot_2023-04-04_at_4.06.13_PM.pngor download Screenshot_2023-04-04_at_4.06.18_PM.png the codes and hand them out to students, or use the Screenshot_2023-04-04_at_4.04.51_PM.png button and display codes on a projector Go to withwayfinder.com/code and type in the code, or scan the QR code with your phone
    Invite With Email Students will receive an email with a link to create a Wayfinder account Enter each student name and email manually Check your email inbox (including spam) and accept the invitation from Wayfinder
    Search Students Students will receive an email notifying them that they have been added to your class Search for students and click on the check box next to each student to add to your classroom Login to your Wayfinder account at app.withwayfinder.com
  8. Don't forget to add teachers! After inviting your students, make sure all classroom teachers are listed at the top of your screen.
  9. To add more teachers, click the settings cog at the top right of your screen, then select "Add New Teacher" or "Add Existing Teacher."

     
  10. To add a new teacher, enter the name and email address of each teacher, and then click on "Invite Teachers."

  11. To add an existing teacher, search for and then click on the name of the teacher.

  12. To remove students, scroll down to the section "Students."
  13. Click on "Actions" next to the student you want to remove
  14. Click on "Remove from Class."
