How To View Student Completions + Submissions

Overview

This article reviews the different methods available for viewing and tracking student completion + submissions of workbooks, exit tickets, Independent Practice Activities, and Waypoints. 

The Student Completions + Submissions discussed below do not account for when educators mark a lesson or activity complete for a class. For information on tracking completions by educators, see our How To Track Educator Lesson + Activity Completions guide.

Workbook, Exit Tickets, and Activity Completions

Option 1: Core Lessons Assignment Tab

  1. Navigate to Core Lessons and click on the workbook and lesson you'd like to view
  2. On the lesson page, click into the "Assignments" tab 
  3. Click on "Assignment Overview" to view data on workbook submission rates and lesson objective achievement

  4. Click on the exit ticket objectives to view data on students' exit ticket responses

  5. Scroll down to the Student list to view submission data by student
  6. Click the "View Submission" link to view a student's responses

  7. After reviewing a student's submission, click the "Mark Reviewed" button on a student's submission to move their assignment into "Submitted: Reviewed"

Option 2: Assigned Lessons + Activities Section

  1. Click on Classes in the left-hand navigation menu and click on a class 
  2. Scroll down on the class page to the "Assigned Lessons + Activities" section 
  3. For workbook + exit ticket assignments, click on the vertical ellipses to the right of the assignment name and click "View Responses" to see student submissions 
  4. For Independent Practice Activity assignments, click on the number in the "# Completed" column to see which students completed the assignment 

  5. Click on the assignment name to navigate to the lesson or activity guide

Tip: If you are a Teacher user, you'll also see an Assigned Lessons + Activities section on your Wayfinder Home dashboard 

Option 3: Waypoints Page (Exit Ticket Submissions only) 

Exit ticket data is also accessible on the Waypoints page. This view allows district admin and school admin to view high-level data on exit ticket submissions and lesson objective achievement. 

  1. Navigate to Waypoints 
  2. Under Filter Assessments on the left, select "Exit Tickets" under Assessment Name
  3. On the Overview tab, you'll see the following components
    • Overall Objective Achievement
    • Highest Objective Achievement, Best Completion Rate, and Most exit tickets assigned
      • This data differs depending on your role. System Admin will see top schools listed here, School Admin/Principals/Counselors will see top classes, and Teachers will see top lessons.
    • Lesson Insights
    • Data by school (System Admin only) or data by class (System Admin and School Admin only)
  4. On the Students tab, you'll see exit ticket data by student

Option 4: Student Timeline

When a student completes assignments and Waypoints, their completion will appear on their individual profiles. 

  1. Navigate to the student's profile via the Waypoints or the Classes page
    • From the Waypoints page, click on the Students tab, use the search bar to search for the student, and then click on their name
    • From the Classes page, click on the class that the student is in and then click on the student's name from within the Students list. 
  2. Scroll down to view the student's Timeline
  3. Click on the "View Response" button to the right of the assignment to view the student's submission

 

Waypoints Completions

When students complete Waypoints assessments, their completions will appear on the Waypoints page in real time. Follow these steps to view Waypoints completions:

  1. Click on Waypoints from the left-hand navigation menu 
  2. Use the filters on the left side of the page to filter the data on the right 
  3. Click the "View Details" button in the Completion Rate box to view completion rates (Tip: Filter down to the class level to view completions by student)
